Barbara Agnew —

Welcome to all our new and returning students for 2019.

Kia ora koutou

We were delighted to welcome new students and staff to Queen’s with a Mihi Whakatau and I thank Waiariki Taiapa-Parata from Ngāi Tahu for his support. The girls have quickly settled into their classroom routines for learning and are already embracing the wider life of the school. To the parents and whanau of all our new students, I welcome you to our Queen’s community and I look forward to meeting you over the year.

Congratulations to all of our newly named prefects for 2019. Head girl, Scarlett Rogers, and deputy head girl, Chloe Robertson, presented the remaining nine prefects with their prefect badge in the first of our leadership assemblies.

Our students have again achieved fantastic results in their overall qualifications for 2018. Our preliminary participation achievement rate is Level 1 – 91%, Level 2 – 92% and Level 3 – 90%. At Level 1 – 61%, Level 2 – 45% and Level 3 – 36% of students gained their NCEA qualification endorsed with an Excellence or Merit.  Congratulations to all these students.

Our focus continues to be on academic achievement and success for all students. We will continue to share the girls’ successes with you over the year and we appreciate your support in all their endeavours. I look forward to another exciting year ahead.
