The Pou Project
This year we were very lucky to have the wonderful Amanda Slade-Cahill of the Pou Project mentor our senior and junior Pasifika students.
This project is aimed at readying the girls for academics, improving their confidence and initiative, having their voices heard and just having a fun time together. Amanda was a wonderful mentor and the girls really enjoyed having her here to support and encourage them.
Under Amanda's guidance the junior cohort came up with a ‘Christmas Hamper’ idea to help families in need and the collected goods would be given to Pacific Trust Otago to distribute this season.
I am blown away with the amount of items we received from the incredibly generous Queen’s whānau. Every single form class contributed and there were some really great items such as diapers and toys that can be passed on to the community.
Thank you so much Amanda and girls for your wonderful contribution. Malo ‘aupito, Fa’afetai, Meitaki, Kia ora.
