The Surfing team recently competed in competitions that took them from Curio Bay to the West Coast.

The team competed at Curio Bay two weeks ago with competitors coming in from all over the South Island. The conditions were great which allowed for some very impressive performances. Taya Morrison, an up and coming talented surfer, secured 4th place in the Under 14 division. A great result for her first competition.

Jaya Reardon and Anika Ayson also came away with some fantastic results. Jaya coming 2nd in the Under 18 and 3rd in the Under 16 divisions. Anika placing 3rd in the Under 18 and 2nd in the Under 16 divisions.

The next weekend, Jaya and Anika travelled up to Westport with the Southcoast Boardriders team to compete in the Cape Classic. The girls took advantage of the pumping conditions and impressed the crowd with their fantastic surfing. They showed their determination and skills when the waves got to a massive double overhead.

Anika came away with the Under 20 title and 4th place in the Open Women’s. Jaya placed 4th in the Under 20 division.
