For the first time, the Arts Council held an Arts Showcase Week. In the last week of Term 2, there was Dance, Visual Art Painting and Photography and Drama activities to showcase students work in each of these areas. 

The Hip Hop Dance Crews shared what they had been working on for competitions early in Term 3. The highlight was the winning duo of Safera Wintrup and Izzy Brown performing their successful competition piece for us.

There was a fantastic slide show by the Visual Art Students, compered by our Head Girl, Mereana Martin. It was amazing to view the images on a large screen in the Hall and to hear the girls talking about what inspired them and what ideas were embodied in their art works (see above).

The Shakespeare Drama group were finally able to actually perform their excerpt from "Twelfth Knight" to an audience. The event was sweetened up with the addition of treats taped under some of the seats to delight the audience. 

All of the Arts on show were really enthusiastically received by all who came to watch, with a large number of students and teachers in attendance each day. The feedback has been so positive that the Arts Council and Arts Prefect, Mikayla Preston, are recommending this event as something that should be an annual event. Ka pai!
