Last week the Year 13 Biology class went on their first trip for the year to the Physiology Department at the University of Otago. Here they carried out some practical investigations about the way the body regulates respiratory gases and temperature. This involved some students wearing nose-clips while breathing into large collection bags, all while riding on an Exercycle. They also had their temperatures monitored, and the gases in the collection bags were analysed. Thanks to Abby McMullan and Morgan Mingins for being prepared to be our experimental subjects!
