Queen’s High School surfers Rewa Morrison, Tessa Gabbott, Sari Ayson and Pipiata Ritchie competed at the Westport Connect Group Grom Comp 2 and the Cape Classic Surfing Competition which were held during the holidays.

The double header surf contest saw some impressive surfing by the groms with Rewa Morrison, Tessa Gabbott and Sari Ayson taking the 1-2-3 in the Under 18 Girls division, which was held in small waves in a dying swell. In the Under 16 Girls division Pipiata Ritchie and Tessa Gabbott were placed 1-2. Pipiata also placed 2nd in the Under 14 division. 

The Cape Classic event was held in solid waves. Tessa Gabbott surfed her way to 2nd in the Open Women’s division, which was a superb result. Our surfers will be competing at the Otago Champs this weekend as well as heading to Piha, Christchurch and Kaikoura over the coming months.  Ka pai tō mahi surfers!
