GirlBoss workshop

Queen's High School —

Last week students from Queen's High School and Tahuna Intermediate had the opportunity to be a part of a workshop run by Alexia Hilbertidou the founder of GirlBoss New Zealand.

This was a workshop called ChangemakeHER. It aims to inspire young pupils to take an interest in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM) careers.

Some of the takeaways from the workshop  were....

1. Be ambitious

2. Be confident

3. Identify your strengths

4. Know your ‘why’ and be ready to articulate it.

5. Networking

6. Interview skills

7. Go for it!

Thank you to the Ministry of Education and Alexia Hilbertidou for coming to our school and giving the girls the opportunity to listen to a truly inspirational young woman.
