Queen’s High School

Queen's Aerobics by Helen Lowther

Aerobics

Helen Lowther - October 10, 2023

11 Queen’s students, and student coach Abby Newell, travelled to Wellington to compete in the NZCAF Schools Aerobics New Zealand Championships.

This was a very successful competition with Queen’s taking out the Tina Ball Shield for the highest scoring school having the most 1st , 2nd and 3rd places. We also won the Sportsmanship Cup. Several competitors, parents and coaches contributed to the event by helping out at the competition. Brooke Wilson was awarded a trophy for the most aerobic performance.

Primary, intermediate and secondary students that are part of our Queen’s Aerobics Community Coaching Programme also competed well, gaining trophies and medals. Thanks to the student coaches and our senior coaches Annelise Lowther, Kirsty Snoep and Libby Haywood for travelling to the event with us. Annelise and Kirsty are travelling to Belgium as New Zealand team coaches with Queen’s Aerobics Club athletes who have qualified for the FISAF World Aerobics Championships to be held this month. We wish the team well.
