Amazing Alex - Alexandra Camp 2022

Samantha Montgomerie —

Biking, swimming and soaking in the Central Otago surroundings - the students and staff on the Alexandra Camp enjoyed their week in the outdoors.

Cycling from Clyde to Alexandra on the Rail Trail was a great challenge for many of the girls. After a hot ride on the first day, the Kiwi Water Park in Lowburn provided a welcome relief, as they slid, splashed and swam to cool off. The Riverside Track provided an energetic ride through the trees on the way back to Clyde, and it was great to see the students pushing their limits as they raced over the bridges and round the tight bends. An afternoon of lakeside swimming and sun-soaking brought a restful end to muscle-sore bodies, as did the quick swim at the slightly warmer indoor pools. We had a fun time at the campground, enjoying softball, camp games and a Talent Show. There were also fun side trips to the Garden Maze, Butcher’s Dam, lakeside cooking by the river and the Gabriel’s Gully walkway. Thanks to Mrs Montgomerie, Miss Manning, Miss Ellis and Miss Lyall for organising a fun camp.
