Congratulations to the winner of the 2022 Janice Marriott Mentoring Award, Samantha Montgomerie. She is being awarded this for her novel manuscript 'The Boy Who Fell from the Clouds'.

Janice Marriott is a writer, editor, audio producer, screenwriter, creative writing tutor and mentor, manuscript assessor, poet and gardener.  Storylines, in line with its advocacy for the development of New Zealand children’s literature, offers 11 awards to writers, illustrators, publishers and those working in the field of children’s literature and literacy.  These awards are nationally and internationally recognised, acknowledging achievement and service and providing opportunities for established, emerging and new talent. The Award will be the starting point for six months' ongoing mentoring to Samantha, during which time Janice will be available to encourage and advise.
