Adaptive Sports
Wednesday afternoons are a highlight for a small group of students who attend Sport Otago's Adaptive sport/activities programme. Our students have an opportunity to learn new skills whilst making connections with students from other schools.
Nicky Jocelyn-Homan (one of our Teacher Aides) supports this group and enjoys her time assisting students' to develop their social and physical skills.
We asked a few students what they thought of the programme, here are a few abreviated snippets: Aysha - I really enjoy being out in the sunshine, fresh air and seeing our friends. I have learned a number of different skills - running, throwing, jumping. Katie - I like the game of hockey and learn a lot of things. I like that we have lots of kind people and that I can play with my friends. Marissa - I like hockey because I practice different ball skills and enjoy going with my friends. I also like seeing my friends from other schools.
