Parenting Courses
Term 2 Parenting courses start in May and are open now for enrolments with limited places.
For those raising kids of all ages, Catholic Social Services offer the following programs:
6-week parenting courses which cater for parents of children from birth to teen:
-The 'Younger Years' (for parents of preschoolers and primary aged) is generally run as a Wednesday morning course 9:30am-11:30am.
-The 'Older Years' (for parents of primary age children, tweens and teens) run as a Wednesday evening course 7-9pm.
-Game On (for Dads, by Dads) on Wednesday evening course 7-9pm. Term 2 starting 15th May.*
14-week parenting course for parents of children ages 3-8 years old with challenging behaviours.
-Incredible Years Friday morning course, 9:30am-12pm. Contact us for interest in future courses.*
For Grandparents & kin carers we run a monthly support group. The Whānau Caregivers Support Group meets on the second Monday of the month 9:30am-11.30 am.
For kids themselves we are planning on offering the following courses tailored to their needs:
-Kainga Ora - a 6 week course designed to help kids feel good about themselves and safe at home.*
-Seasons for Growth - an 8 week course designed to help children explore the impact of change and loss in everyday life, and learning new ways to respond to these changes.*
