FIFA Women's World Cup

Students were fortunate enough to be provided with the opportunity to attend the FIFA Women’s World Cup Football game; New Zealand versus Switzerland, thanks to Southern Youth Development. Unfortunately, the incredible atmosphere and a crowd of nearly 26,000, was not enough for New Zealand to be victorious and progress to the final round of 16 teams. The team put in a gallant effort and displayed some amazing skills, but could not find the goal they needed.

Ball Carriers

A memorable moment for Paige Kerr and Lucy Swanson, who both had the privilege of carrying the ball onto the field during FIFA Women’s World Cup games. A ‘Picture Paints a Thousand Words’ - such a wonderful opportunity for our own football players.

Flag Bearers

Yui Ishikawa and Ava Fleet were ball girls during the FIFA Women’s World Cup games. Like our Ball Carriers, they both enjoyed the amazing experience of being part of a special occasion.
