Our senior Enviro group members attended the 2023 Enviro schools Hui held at Orokonui this week.

There were some inspiring speakers, some mahi done in the sanctuary and some planning for actions the Enviro group want to be involved in during the school year. The students on the trip then ran a session with the wider group back at Queen's High School where some brainstorming was done as to what projects we will be involved in this year. For Term 1 and 2 it was decided we will be working on promoting the biodiversity of the Otago marine environment leading up to World Ocean Day on June 8th. There will be various fundraisers held leading up to this with a goal to donate funds to local Otago marine conservation groups. In Term 3 we will continue our work with Plastic Free July and will also head back out to Camp Berwick where we have been working on restoring the wetland there.
