Cadenza
Last weekend Polyhymnia, the Queens’ and Kings’ choir, travelled to Timaru to attend the choral competition called Cadenza.
This competition is for the top 12 choirs in the South Island. Our choir worked hard to be selected for this opportunity, and had lots of fun attending the sessions and workshops. It was a wonderful learning opportunity and to meet new people with the same interests.
The adjudicator held workshops to teach all of the individual choirs two pieces to perform as one combined choir at the gala on Saturday night before the awards were announced.
Polyhymnia was awarded with a Korimako, which is the equivalent of a silver. We are very proud of our girls' achievements and can't wait to be able to continue working towards the same opportunity next year.
A big thank you to Ms Irvine, Mrs White and Ms Dryden for all you to do for us.
