This week we had a shared kai with families and whānau to celebrate Matariki which will start during the school holidays. It was great to get back into our community events and catch up with families again.

The Year 10, 11 and 12 Speaking Festival was held earlier this week. The Year 10 event, Mana Wāhine, was based around the theme of strong women.

This week all of the Year 10 classes have completed a self defence course. they have learnt how to defend themselves and self awareness. Thank you to Imogen from the Women's Self Defence Network- Wāhine Toa for running our sessions.

Each year several of our senior students get their practical, trade-career learning off to an early start, whilst still at school.

Some of our English Language students prepared Syrian and Palestinian food for a shared lunch on July 2nd.

On June 9th, the two Year 12 Biology classes headed to Portobello for the day, to learn more about the marine world.

It has been a busy time in the outdoors for the PE/Outdoor Education Department. Well done to the girls for getting out in the cold weather and giving things a go!

Football had expert advice at training from the professionals and Rugby is another sport to get underway.
