Year 9 Camp Week

Last week all the Year 9 form classes were out on camp. Although some activities had to be altered due to Alert Level 2 restrictions the girls had a great time. Thank you to all the staff and senior students who made this camp possible.

Sports Day Results

Congratulations to all those students who have placed at the Athletics Sports Day. Below are the results for each group. A special mention goes to Jorja Gibbons who broke the school Under 15 Long Jump record with a jump of 4.68m. The last time this record was broken was 2008. Congratulations also goes to those who took part in the house events. Below are also the overall house results.

Year 10 Volunteers

This week some Year 10 students volunteered to help at the Dunedin Primary/Intermediate Triathlon. Although the weather wasn't the best the girls brought plenty of enthusiasm.

Trionique

Trionique Music Performance

Recently a group of music students had the privilege to watch a performance by Trionique, New Zealand's only piano, flute and saxophone trio. The students listened to a large variety of pieces from traditional Japanese and Polish pieces to musicals. The experience allowed the students to see the possibilities for their future, while also listening to some beautiful music.

As part of our learning about “What makes a Queen’s Girl”, 9 Smith have been visited by some guest speakers. One of these guests was Mrs Colleen Lyons - a previous pupil, teacher and Assistant Principal of Queen’s, who now works hard with the Queen’s Ex-Girls Association.
