Year 9 and 10 students were privileged to have New Zealander of the Year, Mike King, speak to them on Wednesday morning.

The Queen's Writing Group was well represented in the recent Dunedin Secondary Schools Poetry Competition. Special congratulations go to two of our writers who were awarded places. Ella McBride gained second place for her poem 'Candy Floss Skies'. Jessie Avison was awarded third place for 'Book Fish'.

On Friday evening, September 20 at the Frankton Events Centre, Queenstown the NZ Schools Hip Hop National Championships was held.

Last term Year 13 PE students had a day rafting with Wild Earth Adventurers on the Taieri River, taking part in the Taieri Rafting Challenge, with senior PE students from Bayfield High School.

The Queens Aerobics team successfully competed in the final event of the year – the New Zealand Competitive Aerobics (NZCAF) Nationals Schools Championships that was held in Queenstown at the end of Term 4.

At the end of last term the International students went on some trips around Dunedin and the wider area.
