Chloe Wood - Year 9 Prefect Speech

On Thursday a small group of Year 12 students went to the Otago Museum for another “People Like Us” workshop: When Art Meets Science.

The Otago Athletics Championships were held recently and 17 Queen's High School students participated.

Year 10 are working on a Mural design for outside B4 and B5. Local Dunedin artist and Mural specialist Bruce Mahalski gave a very informative talk and slide show.

Year 9 students in the first rotation of digital technology have had fun creating Lego robots. Robots could be seen last week venturing down the corridors.

Queen's High School has its first E sports teams! Recently we had two teams compete in a competition against other Dunedin schools. This is an exciting new venture to be a part of and we have several more competitions to go throughout the year.

On Friday 19 March the Senior and Junior A Futsal teams played in the Otago Secondary Schools Tournament at the Edgar Centre.

On Thursday 18th March, Queen’s hosted a breakfast to acknowledge and thank representatives from a range of organisations who have agreed to work together to help us create a Girls’ Shed here at Queen’s. Students will be able to use this space to learn how to safely use tools, and to make items following plans.

Please remember that when driving in the school grounds there is a 5kph speed limit. Please do not park on the yellow lines or the bus stops; this is becoming a real hazard especially on Surrey Street and compromises the safety of our girls. Slow down around our school to 40kph.
