Jude has been on the Board of Trustees since May 2016. She was elected Board Chair in August 2017 and re-elected again in September 2022.
I currently have the privilege of being the Board Chair of the Board of Trustee’s, I put my name forward for the Board not because I had a daughter at Queen's, but because I was a Queen's Girl myself and I care deeply about young women being given every opportunity possible to be successful in life. In return, I have learnt so much more about our School and am always truly inspired by the awesome achievements of our students.
I live in Karitane and despite a lot of people in Dunedin believing that it is miles away, it is actually a pleasant half hour drive into town each morning to my work as a Change Manager at Delta Utilities Ltd. After having left Dunedin immediately after what was then called my 7th Form I studied at Massey University which has then led me to have had many opportunities to live and travel to different parts of New Zealand and also the world. My husband – John’s work brought us back to Dunedin almost nine years ago, and we settled in Karitane, which has proven to be a wonderful place for us to live.
Anyone that knows me well, will confirm that I would not be able to write this without mentioning our fur baby – George, the most laid back chocolate Labrador you will ever come across. In my spare time when I am not hanging out with John and George I play golf, pretend to be a gardener and John and I are slowly trying to complete a number of New Zealand’s great walks – The Grand Traverse is scheduled for next year.
