Queen’s High School Sports Council has recently started Active August. Over the month of August there will be many activities that have been organised for students to participate in. Some of these include dodgeball, multisport, yoga and walking; just to name a few.

The annual Year 13 Geography and Tourism trip to Queenstown happened during Week 1 this term. The trip was made up of 18 students, Mr Sherborne and Ms Meronek.

The Year 9 Speech Competition was held recently. There were a large number of entrants this year and their speeches were of a high standard.

Using a free city bus the senior French students headed into the Exchange area to begin their Street Art Challenge last Friday.

Thank you to everyone who helped out at Open Evening. It was great to see so many families there and the girls were really proud to share their school with others. If you know of someone who is looking at coming to Queen's please encourage them to get their enrolment forms into the school office or go to our website to enrol online.

On behalf of the student council thank you for the can donations for Presbyterian Support Otago. We collected 1800 cans, a massive number for a small school. Well done!

Attention all students! Come along to the Breakfast running group on Friday mornings. We meet at 7.30am behind the King's gym. All abilities are catered for and we run for approx 30 mins over a variety of local courses. A great way to start the weekend and maintain fitness!

2020 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Hip Hop at Queen’s. We had a fantastic number of students audition and now have three crews.

In Shop and Cook, we have been learning how to make lots of yummy meals!

Last Friday we had the annual Netball match between the Queen's and King's Prefects. Although it was a low scoring game the result was very close. Thankfully this year the Queen's Prefects pulled through. The boys from King's have laid down the challenge of a rematch after they have learnt the rules of the game a bit better.

Jess from Otago Cricket is starting the term off with a bang. Students are getting involved in lots of fun games whilst developing their cricketing skills. In Term 4, any student interested in continuing to build their skills can join a school cricket team (Wednesdays after school) or come along to a lunch session for more fun games and skills.
