Week 3 Term 2

Tēnā koutou e te whānau

Dear Parents / Caregivers

Our term has started well and the children have settled in positively to their learning for term 2

  • We welcome Jacinta Wooldridge to the QPS team. Jacinta is working in the front office, and she will be the one greeting you on the phone and at the front desk. Jacinta has made a great start with us. Pop in and say Hi next time you are at school.

  • Vaping - We have some recent instances of children bringing vapes to school. Please be mindful of where children are finding these at home or from others. This is an absolute NO as we are a smoke free school. Please read the link below:

  • Fair Play Awards - We are making these awards daily as duty teachers observe children playing fairly in the playground and setting a great example with our school values of being respectful, responsible and resolute. Ask your children about this and ask them to give you an example of how they are playing fairly at break times.

  • International Student Lesson - This week a group of Year 7/8 students had the opportunity to share some learning with students in China via a zoom link. As part of their presentation our students had to talk about our school and explain our school values. They did an excellent job and we were very proud of the way they represented QPS.

  • Break activities - We have many activities for children to get involved in at morning interval and lunchtime. Our expectation is that they take advantage of these activities and that they are involved and active during these times. We strongly discourage children aimlessly wandering school at these times. Please discuss this at home together.

Have a great weekend.

Ngā mihi
