Band Quest 🎸 This is my overview of Band Quest - From Sophie

First off, here are the people in the band and what instruments they play:

Olivia Marginson - Vocalist

Benson Cooper - Lead Guitarist

Leathan Burgess - Guitar

Sophie Davis - Bass

Angus Cusick - Drums

Shaun Huang - Keyboard/Synth

Band Quest was so much fun! We had to perform two songs, one of which was an original. The afternoon started off with travelling via school van to James Hay theatre. From there we had a tour backstage and waited for our sound check to start. We were second to last performing which meant we were second to last for sound check, so we got to watch all the other bands while they had their sound check. 

Fast forward to the evening where we all met up in the foyer and then headed to our dressing room. We got to interact with all the other bands from other schools who shared a dressing room with us. After having fun chatting to lots of different people from different schools, we headed in for a roll call. We had to shout 'YEAH!' If our school was called and Queenspark were by far the loudest and the most energetic. The main event of the evening headed off to a start and we watched all of the other schools perform. We then got called to head backstage where we headed back to our dressing room and grabbed our instruments, then got our instruments tuned by a professional tuner. There was a lot of nervous energy going around while we waited for the group before us to finish up. We hopped up on stage and did our school proud. 

We got back on stage for prizegiving and waited in anticipation to see if we won anything. As a band, we didn't win anything, but our bass player Sophie Davis won 'Rock Solid Bassist' which is the award for best bass player of the evening. All the awards are very hard to achieve but individual awards are especially hard to earn as there are so many talented players who put so much effort into their performance.

Our band 'Accidently Fabulous' were one of the few schools that performed an original song. We spent quite a few weeks behind the scenes working on our original song. Olivia came up with all the lyrics, while the rest of the band was coming up with the beat and melody. We chose the key we wanted it to be in, and started working from there. After we found the beat, the rhythm, notes and the lyrics we started piecing it together. Our original song sounds so good and is ready for many future performances. 

None of this would've been possible without Joel and Mrs Brown. We are very thankful for their efforts and time.
