What's been happening this term...

Team Leaders —

A snapshot of what is going on at school:

Donations:

Last term our school held a 'Colours Day' to raise money for those affected by the tragic events on March 15th.

We raised $1,300!  This money has been given to the following areas:

$400 to St Johns - for training purposes

$500 to purchase books for the ED department at Christchurch Hospital.  The children will use these when they visit this area of the hospital.

$400 to the Our people, Our City Fund.  We welcomed Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel and Counsellor David Best to assembly this week to collect the cheque.  Lianne spoke of how proud she was that our school came up with the idea to hold a colours day and raise money for such a worthy cause.  Well done Queenspark students and community!  You are awesome 👏

Tree Planting in the Red Zone:

Homeroom 13 and 23 are braving the cold and working with students from Shirley Boys High School and members of Avon-Otakaro Forest Park. We have been planting trees in Brooker Reserve to try and get native birds to come back in to the Red Zone.

Thanks for inviting us down to share the experience SBHS!

Rawhiti Sport - YR5-8

Our winter sport kicked off last Friday for Year 5-8 students at Rawhiti Domain.  Here is the link again for you to check draws, times and information on the games each week:

We will notify via Facebook & Skool Loop if we hear that there are postponements due to the weather. Please send your child to school on Fridays expecting it will be on. We will send a message out as soon as we have confirmation from the organizers.

Due to the colder weather cycle we are currently experiencing in Canterbury your children that they have permission to wear a thicker coat or jacket (which is non uniform) over their uniform when participation in the weekly Rawhiti sports programme.

If you have any additional question please contact your child’s classroom teacher or Mr Harris.
