What does your PTA fundraising money get spent on?
The PTA each year aims to raise funds to provide the many ‘extras’ the school identifies to be a priority so that Queenspark students have a well-resourced and attractive school to enjoy. We have a new committee and a fresh approach to fundraising. We are not afraid to try something different.
Funding Structure 2019
The PTA, at the request of the Board of Trustees, is funding $1000 per learning team in 2019 (a total of $7000) and additional funding for special projects such as the memorial chair. As the year progresses we will provide updates of what each learning team has purchased.
Following discussions with the Board we are now focusing on raising money for a special project as part of the school rebuild. We will provide more details when we have them about the target for the fund and project early in Term 2.

Will there be a School Fair this year?
The PTA agreed last year not to hold the Bi-annual fair this year due to the rebuild process which is likely to be occurring at the time the fair would normally happen. We have had to look at other fundraising options to ensure there are sufficient funds to support the school.
Other events (non fundraising)
The PTA supported the recent John Parsons Cyber safety presentation by serving tea and coffee and organising the free raffle prizes on the night. We also support the Shining Lights event in term 3 with complimentary tea and coffee.
The PTA also purchases the end of year gifts for Year 8 students and sponsors the end of year prizes.
What types of fundraising events does the PTA organise?
The PTA raises funds to support the school with activities such as the Easter and Christmas raffle, sausage sizzles, discos, entertainment books and other activities or opportunities such as Crusaders rugby game.
Term 1 fundraising events
So far this year we have participated in the 'Take a kid to Footy' school fundraiser and had a Black and Red mufti day to support the Crusaders. We raised $640 from the mufti day and transport to football game and $316 from the tickets sold. Opportunities to raise funds at various sports events such as the rugby or basketball are new ventures that many schools are participating in. These are fun family oriented events and participation is optional.
Our Easter raffle has been drawn, with 32 prizes won. Congratulations to all the winners. The raffle raised a little over $1900. Thanks to all the families who supported this raffle.
We will be organising other events throughout the year including quiz nights and a mini market night. If you have other ideas for events or would like to help organising any fundraising events please contact the PTA at queensparkschoolpta@gmail.com
Entertainment Books 2019
This year every family will receive an entertainment book along with an order form. If you wish to keep the book, simply complete the order form, or alternatively return the book to school if you do not wish to purchase. The books will come home with more information in Term 2. Watch this space.
CANTERBURY vs RAMS - Horncastle Arena 27th April 7pm
Book tickets to support the Canterbury Rams as they take on the Wellington Saints.
A great way to treat the kids before they go back to school and support the school at the same time with this PTA initiative.
The school that sells the most tickets will get a visit from the Canterbury Rams 😀
Tickets from $20 Adult and $12 Child.
The PTA really appreciate the support we receive from Queenspark School families and the wider community.
