Some idea on what has been happening at school this term:
Swimming:
Congratulations to all of our swimmers at the Eastern Zone Competition!
We were very proud of everyone for show casing their personal best. As always their behaviour was amazing too - Way to go QP!
YR5/6
Rm 22,23,24
We have been building tracks and programming BeeBots (mini robots used to introduce coding) to follow. We have needed to adapt and improvise in order to make changes to our layout.
Rm 19/20:
We’ve been studying American artist Andy Warhol throughout the term. We’ve been researching his involvement and influence on Pop Art and finding out about him as a person too. We decided to make Andy Warhol inspired Handprint Art to display in the class, showing that we’re all unique and individual. It also brought up discussions about ‘He rau ringa e oti ai - many hands make light work’ and how we work together as a team in Room 19/20.
YR3/4:
Zach Moore from Hub 15/16 has shared his amazing science experiment called a ‘Pop, Pop Boat’. He researched and built this boat with his dad. The heat from the candles heats up the water inside the ‘boiler’ which propels the boat forward in the water.
We were all amazed!! Zach displayed some amazing q comps! Thinking, self managing, participating. We are all very impressed! Mr Willocks was too 👌
Huxster School Mountain Bike Race.
Jay Peat and Millie Junge won 1st mixed team year 5/6. Millie 1st place fastest lap for females (12mim 18 sec/ 4km lap). This was the first time QPS have entered a team in this race :)
