As term 3 draws to a close we reflect on a term with a difference. For three weeks learning happened at home in a different and unique way with the covid lock down. It is fair to say our children came back to school with zest and enthusiasm but are tired now. It seems that the constantly changing routines have taken a toll with fatigue levels with families and staff - the holiday break has come at a good time.
Thank you for the way you have supported us, particularly in the lata part of this term as we have all got back up to top speed. We hope that you are doing well out there with your respective families, businesses and workplaces.
We have been busy this week with school photos. The team from Heritage Productions have passed on some really nice feedback as to how polite and well mannered our children have been. Makes my day to hear that!
Property Progress
We are coming to the end of our MOE rebuild projects. Recently we have had new carpet installed in the classrooms west of the new build. Logistically this has been a juggle but we will look forward to this upgrade in these spaces. The deck and verandah area south of Rooms 19-21 is complete and will add to the learning space footprint of these classrooms. We hope to add colour to both the front and middle courts and new basketball hoops are coming soon! I would like to acknowledge the hard work that Chris Wheeler from our Board of Trustees has put in to this rebuild. Chris has some superb knowledge which has been very helpful and he has been a real asset throughout this process.

Please put this date in your diary. Our PTA team are well under way with preparations for this famous community event. This year our target is to channel the funds raised for some creative play projects in our school. Please keep tuned to our facebook page as we build towards this event. We will be looking for lots of help along the way.
Please check the QPS PTA Facebook page and scroll down to the Twilight Fair.
2 Grans Do 100 - Saturday 2nd October
Jasmine is a Year 3 student at our school. Jasmine has a complex neurodegenerative condition which slowly takes away mobility, speech and cognitive function. There are only four known people in New Zealand who have this condition. There is no treatment for it in New Zealand due to its reality.
We are working closely with the family to come up with some positive experiences for Jasmine and her family while she still has the her mobility. We have been humbled by the way our community are mobilising themselves to help Jasmine. Her dreams could be endless!
Please help support this special young lady. Any donations would be so grateful and could be dropped off to school or feel free to join them at the sausage sizzle tomorrow if you can!
