Parent Teacher Association

Newsletter Notice —

Last Thursday we hosted our first PTA gathering and was pleasantly surprised to have fourteen eager parents attend in person, along with another handful unable to attend this event.

Fiona hosted a walk around the school area and shared all the wonderful improvements the school will be receiving, she also highlighted areas that will NOT be funded by the MOE.

The priority need for the school is a junior playground. This funding project is much bigger than the PTA and we will work together to achieve a wonderful play ground safe space for the junior tamariki of QPS.

The time line is short and the playground was needed yesterday so there will be a fair amount of pre-admin. In the mean time we are figuring out what the PTA and year ahead looks like for QPS community, there were loads of ideas getting raised on not only wonderful ways to fund raise but also reconnect the community following the last few years.

If you were unable to make the first get together but still would like to help in some capacity then please fill in the attached form CLICK HERE – we are looking at a structure of a core PTA and then break off into sub-committee - event teams.

Or if you're not really sure if its for you but you may like to help out at an event then please send me an email!

Many hands make light work! (and hopefully we have fun while we are event organising) We will be collating all information from PTA members and send a summary along with next steps on or before Friday 24th March.

Kind regards

Kirsten Mitchell
