Message from QPS Board of Trustees
Kia ora koutou
It's great to see the rebuild project underway - Version 1 of the scope of work is above. The Board are really excited about the new classrooms and what this will mean for our students' learning. We're working closely with the MoE on a new junior playground, which will be installed as part of the rebuild.
QPS is at the heart of the Queenstown Community. As a Board we have a vision to implement a property masterplan to enhance our school grounds and facilities that will include more play spaces, landscaping and outdoor learning spaces. This is beyond what the current rebuild project will fund and deliver. How we raise funds to achieve this vision is a key focus for the school community over the next year.
Some of you may have seen the article in this week's Mountain Scene that there's a possibility that the Snowmachine music event may be held on the QPS grounds again. The Board has been discussing hosting the event with the organiser, although nothing has been finalised as there are several approvals required. Having this event at QPS brings in considerable revenue that will go directly towards the junior playground and implementing the property masterplan.
If it is confirmed that Snowmachine will be held at QPS, we'll be sending out further communications about the event and the benefits this will bring to the school.
