Acting Principal's Message
Wow, what a difference a week makes! It has been full steam ahead on the school building site. This week diggers have been starting to excavate an extensive amount of fill to ensure a level surface to build our new classrooms on. The dirt pile has got bigger and wider. In the background, the school property team has put in a lot of work as we critique landscaping plans and playground designs to settle on a final concept. A group of junior students worked with Miss Hart today, provided their thoughts on the designs, and offered some useful feedback.
We hope to share draft plans soon, and I am sure you will be equally excited as we are. Check out the attached time lapse footage, which documents the change over the last 4 weeks.
With the loss of the playground, we secured the Memorial Hall for 2 lunchtime sessions a week to run a lunchtime dodgeball competition. The Yr 7/8 students have loved the opportunity to organise a team of 10 and play king of the court.
For those parents who drop off at the PUDO you will be aware that there are traffic diversions through Robins Road, and combined with mountain traffic at the end of the day, the front of the school at pick up time is very busy. Unfortunately, the number of vehicles parking on yellow lines out the front of the school creates hazards, and the last thing we want is an accident. Please, please, follow the guidelines set for the PUDO.
On a brighter note all of your children have been great this week and on behalf of all the staff at school we them. Have a safe and happy weekend.
