Dreams are made at home, in the backyard, on the school field and in our local sporting clubs. Do you know the next Valerie or Steven Adams? Or perhaps an individual who takes to the water like Peter Burling and Lisa Carrington?

We are extremely excited to announce the next intake for Shotover Jet’s Te iti Kahuraki sponsorship programme for young athletes is now open! Te iti Kahuraki is inspired by the whakataukī “Whāia te iti kahuraki, ki te tūohu koe me he maunga teitei” – “Seek the distant horizon, should you bow your head let it only be to a lofty mountain”. We hope our athletes will aim high and be undeterred by small obstacles.  

It has been an incredible year for our class of 2023 athletes, Riley (downhill MTB), Priya (Ballet and Contemporary Dance), Ruari (Skiing) and Jono (BMX) where we saw their sponsorship packages help them invest in new gear, travel to and from competitions and even represent Aotearoa overseas!

We are now looking for our next grassroots sporting talent to support and want to hear from your team members/pupils who would benefit from the Te iti Kahuraki programme!  We have four individual sponsorship packages available for young athletes aged 5 to 17 years.

Sponsorship package includes (valued up to $2500)

• Monetary support * 
• Access to Shotover Jet passes to support fundraising efforts ** 
• Free Shotover Jet rides for athletes and access to special whānau discounts *** 

• Shotover Jet merchandise package  
• Professional Photography Package
• Exposure on Shotover Jet digital platforms 

Community is a huge part of what we do at Shotover Jet and at the heart of our business are our core values; Manaakitanga (looking after our people), Rangatiratanga (leadership), Tohungatanga (expertise) and Kaitiakitanga (stewardship). We are always striving to provide these for our community.

*One payment of $1000 to be applied towards sporting expenses (example: equipment, competition entry, sport club fee)

** 6 Individual Passes, can be combined to form a family pass 

*** Athlete travels free of charge and accompanying friends and whānau members travel at the advertised Child rate, both on standby basis. 

We will sponsor each recipient for a 12- month period.

Applicants must reside in the local Queenstown Lakes Region, be aged 5 – 17 years and attend a local school

Applications are open to all sporting activities.

Applications open Wednesday 1st November and close Wednesday 22nd November.

Please advise interested athletes to head to www.shotoverjet.com/athlete to apply and find attached a letter you can distribute to your club members/students.
