Kia ora koutou katoa,

Another term comes to an end and now we're halfway through the school year! The QPS board has had another busy term in the property space, we're really excited that the new classroom project is finally underway. Over the holidays the work will ramp up, with a new haul road being built from Hamilton Road (by First Start) to the construction site. Once this road is built Rooms 28 and 29 will be demolished. PUDO and the staff carpark will be closed over the school holidays.

We are now focussing on the new junior playground, getting a design underway and priced up. The Ministry of Education will be contributing funds to the new playground but the board would like to add to this fund so we can get a really awesome playground for our tamariki. Watch this space.

We have also approved the budget for three new teacher aides and an ESOL teacher aide for the rest of the year, for the Year 5 and 6 classes. The class sizes in the Senior School are quite large and continue to grow so this will help both the teachers and students.

To all the teachers and staff at QPS, thank you so much for all your amazing work, it's been a busy term.

Enjoy the break everyoneMā te wā
