Queenstown Lakes District is one of the fastest-growing regions in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our resident population is expected to reach 78,000 in the next 30 years alongside an additional 42,000 visitors at the same time! This significant increase in the expected daytime population will put extreme pressure on our district’s transport network.

We’re creating a Travel Demand Management Programme that will focus on identifying low-cost actions that will help the community, businesses, and residents to consider their transport choices, optimise the efficiency of our transport network and to achieve more sustainable outcomes in the Queenstown Lakes.
