Access To Free Period Products

Being able to go to school every day is important for overall well-being. It provides a safe environment where children and young people can grow and learn, build social connections and a sense of belonging, and develop their potential. It has long-term impacts on health, employment opportunities and life choices.

Access to period products is just one way to remove barriers that prevent children and young people from regularly attending school. Providing free period products is one way our government can directly address poverty and positively impact children’s well-being.

The initiative aims to provide free period products to children and young people in all state and state-integrated schools and Kura across New Zealand, not only for use within the school setting but also at home.

Access to period products is a necessity, not a luxury. We have products for those who need it.

To access the products, please see your classroom teacher, Ms Thorn or the office staff to collect some packets of the preferred product to take and use at home. Products will be available and housed within school bathrooms for use throughout the day.
