Room 13's Monarch Butterfly

Today we released our Monarch butterfly after caring for him for over 3 weeks. We watched as our caterpillar, Berry, grew from a tiny caterpillar into a huge one! Before we knew it, he had made his chrysalis and popped his head in. He stayed there for 16 days, then pushed his way out and he was a beautiful butterfly. We discovered he was a boy after he had turned into a butterfly based on the dots on his wings. We are sad to see Berry go but we are happy he is free.
