House days postponed

The EOTC activity leaders have met this week and agreed to postpone our annual House days until Term 4. Several contributing factors influenced this decision.

1. The recent weather has been very unpredictable, with cold and warm days. The long term forecast for next week does not look perfect at all.

2. The parent response rate has been very low. We are curious whether all the recent long weekends have impacted parent sign-ups.

3. Several staff members are absent, which is impacting the safe running of some of our planned activities.

To top this off, the bridge at Sam Summers has been washed out. When it rains, it pours!!

I know this is a disappointing news to hear. We moved our annual house days 3 years ago to Term 1, to alleviate the congestion of our programme at the end of the year. In doing so we have cancelled over 50% of these planned house days due to bad weather. Returning to the warmer months of December should give us more settled weather and make it a more enjoyable experience for our students.

We thank you for your understanding.
