On Thursday last week Te Waka Uruao took a trip to Sumner Beach to learn some stories about Rakihauia

On Thursday the 9th of February, Te Waka Uruao went to Sumner Beach for the morning and participated in a few challenges while learning stories.

Each year group were put into groups and given challenges.

They were first challenged to build a waka.

And then challenged to build a 'fire' with a tohora next to it.

After this, Matua Miru told some stories about a rangatira.

Lastly, we had time to chill till lunchtime, so some pononga went for a swim in the ocean.
