Matariki Wearable Arts

Ngaru Hepi —

To celebrate Aotearoa's first ever matariki public holiday, Te Pā hosted a school wearable arts parade!

On the 22 of June Te Pā o Rākaihautū held a matariki wearable arts parade. There were categories to base your costumes off, such as Taiao, Recyclables, matariki, etc. Here are the competitors and their costumes!

These girls loved getting the opportunity to show off their love for matariki and fashion. They all worked very hard, some costumes taking 3 days and others 3 weeks! Thank you to the judges Matua Ollie, Hakui Terina, Whaea April and Matua Steve.
