As part of their final Hinetoa session for the year and to celebrate, the girls took to the vans and headed to Kaiapoi for a splash at Aqualand. First, they got fitted for their life jackets before the quick safety briefing. The weather wasn’t the best, but the girls didn’t let that stop them. They were off! Jumping off the end of the wharf was the first test, the water was cold but everyone got in and enjoyed the treat.

From helping each other and sending them flying into the air, the smiles and laughter was a great way to celebrate just to spend some time with the girls. A special mihi to Whaea Dalice for organising this kaupapa all year and to Whaea Ana, for joining in on the fun. After the dip, it was time for a picnic and a bit of reflection. I look forward to what 2024 could bring for our pā and our boys and girls groups.
