Stage 2-Alert Level 2

Te Pā o Rākaihautū —

Movement for Te pā o Rākaihautū

Tēnā tātou e te whānau

Thank you for your aroha and tautoko as we continue to transition Te Pā safely out the other side of this international pandemic. The Prime Minister announced on Monday that Cabinet will again review the settings of Alert Level 2 on 8 June and have agreed that no later than 22 June, about 4 weeks, they will consider a move to Alert Level 1.

However we said we would adjust in two weeks and we are. As restrictions continue to ease and reported cases of COVID-19 continue to be so low we are pleased to report that as from next week a majority of our staff will be back onsite. We fully appreciate more of you need to get your tamariki/rangatahi back to Te Pā and we would like to see more of them back and settling back into their studies. We welcome all our pononga back but we know that some whānau may still need to keep their tamariki home if they are unwell or have underlying health issues.

Thank you to all of you for working with us over the past two weeks. While we expect a majority of our pononga will return next week we will continue to offer Te Whare Pā Wānanga for those who need to continue home based learning part time or full time.In preparation for next week can you please let your kaihautū know your intentions for the remainder of level 2.

Can we also remind you that we are still operating in Alert Level 2, Tākaro Tika, so all safety measures including social distancing, screening at the door for wellness, staggered drop offs and pick offs, additional hygiene measures and contact tracing will remain in place. This is still not Te Pā as we knew it in its full glory but we remain committed to keeping us all safe. We are also looking forward to reconnecting with more of our pononga after such a big period of isolation.
