Te Puna Waimarie have started a new programme with our Tau 7 and 8 pononga!

Our tau 7 & 8 pononga are beginning to navigate through the journey of becoming young adults. The combination of social and school pressures can be difficult to deal with for some of our pononga. In an effort to help and support our kōtiro and tama through emotional, hormonal and physical changes, we have initiated two rōpū: Hinetoa (kōtiro) and Tamatoa (tama).

This is an opportunity for our kōtiro to do activities with our female kaimahi, and for our tama to do activities with our male kaimahi. The activities are designed to help our pononga to build the skills and confidence to be more resilient to the pressures they are navigating as young adults. It is a safe space for them to connect with each other, and to seek guidance and support from our mana wāhine and mana tāne.
