Nau mai haere mai whānau, come to Pohoareare for a fun day outside full of learning, kai and looking to the seasons ahead.
Ko Mahi Ko Ora - 27th Aug SATURDAY AT 10 AM – 3 PM
Ko Mahi Kō Ora welcomes whānau to join our second season of wānanga and workshops - supported by Koanga Kai. Last year was super disrupted by COVID, but we managed to get a lot of groundwork done at Pohoareare instead.Site Entrance: Pohoareare, 105 McBratneys Road, Dallington (come through the gate into the Red Zone and park on the streets).We are really excited to welcome whānau to Pohoareare to learn from one of our tuakana, Greg Byrnes from Tūhaitara Coastal Park (Te Kōhaka o Tūhaitara Trust).Greg will guide us through the process of creating a ‘Biota Node’ - a successful technique to planting and creating habitat for native wildlife, manu, inaka, ika and more, to return to Pohoareare.We also plan have a small burn off to prepare Kumara beds for planting later in the season.BBQ Kai will be provided at 1.30pm (Please advise of any dietary requirements)
