Schindler are currently recruiting for electrical apprentices within the Christchurch region, and we are wanting to enquire whether you would have any students who would be interested.

Schindler manufactures, instals, services, and modernises elevators, escalators, and moving walks for almost every type of building worldwide. The company specialises in the latest-technology engineering as well as mechanical and microprocessor technology.

We are offering an electrical apprenticeship specialising in the industrial stream. Apprentices will gain experience in all aspects of elevator and escalator installation (mechanical and electrical), maintenance and repairs. This is a 3.5 – 4 year apprenticeship which will see them not only becoming registered as an electrician but also gain industry specific certifications which are recognised worldwide.

Here at Schindler apprentice intakes are usually twice a year with a maximum number of 8-10 apprentices on the team at any one time.

We are a friendly, supportive, and social team with passion in providing help to our apprentices to be their best.

The next upcoming intake will be starting early February 2024.

Interviewing and recruiting will take place late November/December this year.

We are looking for students who have a minimum of NCEA Level 2 English, Maths, and Science.

Applicants must have a good attitude and the right ability to apply.

– Clean NZ drivers’ licence with their own transport.
