On Saturday June 18th the group fundraising to travel to Rarotonga will host 150 guests in Rapanui (the hall) at Te Pā o Rākaihautū. The entertainment starts at 5.30pm.

6.00pm Turou - Cook Island Welcome

Welcome ceremony for special guests (turou) The turou is a formal performance to welcome chiefs, important dignitaries or high ranking officials. This is a loud but respectful greeting involving ura (dance), pona / kaakau (colourful clothing), ei katu, ei kaki and rauti (flowers) and imene (song/hymn).
