Junior Basketball
The past few weeks the yr 5-6 and yr 7-8 Te Pā basketball teams have been playing games against other schools. Here are the results!
The yr 5-6 Te Pā team have been training every thursday afternoon during their lunch break to prepare for this competition season. It has been great getting to learn and improve alongside eachother and they've formed a really great team with the awesome coaching of the uruao pononga, Rodney Watson and Te Ra Ngawai!
Last week (02/06/2022) the yr 5-6 Te Pā team travelled to Cowles Stadium to play against Queenspark Grizzlys. It was a hard game for the team, but a great challenge. They unfortunately lost this game, 2-6.
POD went to Kataraina for being a great team player. She has been showing great sportsmanship and natural skills within the game!
Whaea Lisa (Co-Coach)
-They are improving each and every week and are starting to gel together as a team. They are learning to work together and share the ball amongst eachother with the aim of slowing down their plays. It is great getting to see them have fun every week.
The yr 5-6 Te Pā boys travelled to Cowles Stadium again for their game this week (09/06/2022). They versed Marshlands Mana and took the win, 8-2. It was great! The game looked very fun with heaps of intercepts. The boys are very proud of this first win for their season.
POD went to Kaidin Jackson-Brown for his awesome attack and defence, scoring majority of their points and taking heaps of steals!
Te Pā Beavers yr 7&8s

Meet our year 7&8 poitukohu team!The boys train early every Monday morning here at Te Pā with their coach Tuakana Hyram. They finish training with parakihi and are set for their kemu which are played every Tuesday.
They've won 2 out 3 games and are a promising team who look to do well this season.
The team has been to watch the Canterbury Rams play Hastings Hawks and gather some inspiration and key tips on how they can improve their team game.
Next week's game is 6pm at Cowles for any whanau who want to come support.
