Kaiurungi Kōrero
He manu tīoriori He korokoro tui He reo rōreka
Kei te pāorooro ana ngā manu o Te Pā o Rakaihautū. Ko ngā kōtiro me ngā tama tāne e waiata ana e haka ana e kōrero ana i ngā mahi a Rēhia a Tāne rore.
Kapa haka has truly begun at Te Pā with our Te Pā o Rākaihautū Rangaihi group in full swing along with another roopu teina from Hauaitū in preparation for Rangaihi regionals on saturday 10 April.
Our tuakana are also going through their moves in preparation for the Waitaha Kura Tuarua regionals later this year. Māori performing Arts is now NZQA accredited as a university entrance subject. Kei te tika tēnā.
Our pononga can carry on to university if they pass their Māori performing arts subjects in NCEA.
Te Pā was also honoured last year with a 100% NCEA level 1 and 2 pass rate and a 93% NCEA level 3 pass rate. Eight of our fourteen graduates last year have gone onto tertiary and University study. We wish them well as they wander the halls of UC, Victoria Uni, Waikato Uni, ARA, YOOBEE and the trades.
Thank you to everyone for coming to our puna hui, we look forward to seeing you at our parent evenings at the end of term 2 for our RAPS (Rapid Achievement Planning System) hui. Nga mihi nui ki a koutou katoa e te whānau.
Tauira, Kaiurungi.
