Te Pā o Rākaihautū by Hineamaru Paraone

Tū ki te Ao, Tau Ana!

Kia Matatū, Kia Matatau, Kia Mataora!

It is our mission to feed the mind (matatau), body (mataora) and soul (matatū) everyday so that our pononga stand confident in the world.

Aoraki Matatū is a well known proverb in Te Wāi Pounamu and speaks to our connection to this place, our people and our stories. It calls our whānau to stand with pride and confidence and to raise their sights to the highest peaks. It recognises that culture, connection and character are foundational to educational success.

Kia Matatau urges our whānau to strive for academic, cultural and sporting excellence; to find their passion and become experts and leaders in their chosen fields.

Kia Mataora is about ensuring our pononga and whānau are nourished ā hinengaro, ā tinana, ā wairua, ā whānau all day everyday!

"Tamaiti akona i te pā, tū ki te ao, tau ana!
A child educated to be strong in their own identity stands confident in the world."
