On the 16th Of July Rev K, myself and 5 other girls set off on our Indian Exchange.

We arrived at Christchurch airport all very excited to see what India holds. After our 11-hour flight we finally arrive in Singapore all of us very eager to sleep for the next 6 hours! After our alarm woke us up, we head for our next flight to Delhi. We arrived in a very exciting and busy Delhi after navigating our way through the airport we caught our domestic flight to Dehradun. We were welcomed by our buddies and teachers from the school. For the next 2 and a half weeks we were Unison World School students. For the weeks we were immersed in the school we learnt all about the Indian culture including: learning Hindi songs, traditional and Bollywood dances and a range of different types of arts. During the school day, we went site seeing at local cultural site including Gurudwaras, Buddhist Temples, farms and a science center.

After our two weeks at Unison World School we headed off on our “golden triangle trip” visiting the highly anticipated Jaipur, Delhi and Agra. First, we jetted off to Jaipur, where we visited the Amber Palace, Hawa Mahal, City Palace and got to ride on Elephants! Every place we visited was truly amazing for unique reasons. After three nights in Jaipur, we drove to Agra all very excited for the Taj Mahal. Despite a long drive we finally arrived in Agra on a hot yet cloudy afternoon. We then decided to visit the Agra Fort, before going to bed eagerly awaiting our early start to see the Taj Mahal! We arrived at the Taj Mahal at 6am and were blown away at how incredible this building really is. After spending a few hours all clicking our cameras, we caught our bus to our final destination, Delhi. After roaming round the markets in Delhi, we began our venture home the next morning after saying a very sad goodbye.
