Start of Term Reminders

Stephanie Barnett —

Uniform

Girls will return in full summer uniform (culottes and blouse remain an option, worn with white socks) at 8.50am on Monday 12 October. Junior dresses and skirt length needs to be on, or just below the knee. In response to student kōrero, girls may choose to wear 1 small-sized gold or silver sleeper in each ear-lobe instead of studs. Year 13 students are also able to wear their Leavers' Ring in Term 4.

Mobile Phones for Learning

A reminder of our rationale and guidelines so we start the term constructively:

  • To strengthen face to face communication, collaboration skills and active participation in learning
  • To support self-management and remove distractions
  • To support wellbeing and provide time and space away from social media

Phones will not be visible throughout the day unless directed or when agreed to by the teacher. Otherwise they will remain silently in bags or be stored by the teacher for the lesson. Access without permission will see the phone put in safe-keeping for the remainder of the lesson or the day. Students will incur a school duty if this becomes a pattern and parents/caregivers will be informed. If the problem continues, the phone will be stored in the Deputy Principal’s office until it is collected at end of the day.

Access to some social media sites is restricted during the school day.

Lost Property

A considerable number of items were handed into the office at the end of Term 3 and we will endeavour to reunite those that were named with their owners. You might be interested in checking this pile of unnamed items if your daughter has lost clothing, before making any purchases at the Uniform Shop.
