From the Principal
This is the final Intouch newsletter for 2021, as we head into our Prize Givings, Leavers’ Ball and a host of other end of year celebrations next week. Please ensure you have read this update on our Prize Givings , and Year 13 families, please read the email you received on Wednesday regarding the Ball as there have been some changes (including opening to parents and caregivers for parts of the event).
We are very mindful that whilst it is a celebratory time of the year, many of our students are in the middle of their NCEA external examinations. Those students I have spoken to have been taking a calm and practical approach to what is for some, less than ideal timing with the exams being pushed back this year. I wish all those continuing their exams the very best, and well done for those already completed.
Last week I attended the Junior production Fame Jnr, with Christ’s College students combining with our own to produce what was a magical experience. Congratulations to all involved; students, staff, supporters—it was one to remember!
A reminder to our community to please complete the Ask Your Team survey. You have been emailed a link (sent November 23) in order to do so. The survey closes on December 3 at 3pm. Your voice is of tremendous value to us and we appreciate you taking the time to fill it in. If you have any access issues, please contact Melissa Campbell, Assistant Principal - Teaching & Learning at m.campbell@rangiruru.school.nz.
Finally I want to thank you, all our Rangi Ruru parents and caregivers, for supporting our school and most importantly your daughters this year. Whilst we could not control a lot of what has impacted us this year the encouragement, aroha and guidance we provide to our younger generation will prevail and be what they remember when they guide the next generation through their own challenges.
I wish you all a fantastic summer break.
Ngā mihi nui
